About Sri Sai Krishnalaya
Sri Sai Krishnalaya is the first known temple being built in the world for Sri Sai Krishna. This temple is located 10km from Gobichettipalayam town at the tri-junction of roads leading to Athani and Mevani in Erode district, Tamil Nadu, India. The area is called Karunkaradu, a hillock where the popular temple for Lord Subramaniya is located. On 23rd November 2016, Bhoomi Puja was performed for the main temple. Due to the requests by devotees and well-wishers, construction of Dwarakamai with Dhuni (Holy Fire Place) was initiated. Before we could complete the building, Sri Shirdi Baba’s marble idol arrived from Jaipur. Baba’s idol was consecrated and placed in a temporary steel structure to begin the spiritual activities at Sai Krishnalaya on Guru Purnima day, 9th July 2017. This idol will be relocated inside Dwarakamayi temple before the inauguration of the main temple later.
We were blessed to receive Padukas of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Baba from Ananda Nilayam, Madurai, which were physically blessed by Him in 2010. Sri Srinivasan Chettiyar was kind enough to offer the padukas after listening to the founders about Sri Sai Krishnalaya.
Spatika Lingam sourced for Sri Sai Krishnalaya from Sringeri Mutt was blessed by both Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam during their Vijaya Yathra at Gobichettipalayam on 18th March 2017).
One of the founder members Sri. S. S. Ramanitharan was blessed to undertake pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in 2019. The Shivalingam used to perform rituals with holy water at Manasarovar Lake is brought and placed in the temple’s altar.
During one of the bhajan sessions in 2014 at the residence of the devotee wherein Bhagawan conducted His leelas, a small Sri Krishna brass idol materialized by Bhagawan was found inside the puliyotharai (tamarind rice). Presently this idol is placed in the altar of Sri Sai Krishnalaya for regular puja rituals.
On 9th November 2017, the Dwarakamai Temple was inaugurated with the lighting of the perpetual fire with due vedic rituals that included Gho puja and Gayathri Homam.
On 16th July 2019 (Guru Purnima day), two important spiritual events were conducted at Sri Sai Krishnalaya. A statue of Shirdi Sai that is uniquely constructed in a pond as Sri Sai Krishna dancing on the Kalinga snake was unveiled with vedic rituals by one of Bhagawan’s blessed devotees. On the same day, a holy neem tree was planted by another senior devotee as sthala virucham.
At the altar, a decorated chair is placed for Sathya Sai Avatar. All the three forms of Sai Krishna (Lord Krishna, Shirdi Sai and Sathya Sai) are portrayed and prayed as ONE here.
Sai Krishna Gayathri given to us by Bhagawan as part of His divine miracles plays in the background at the temple continuously:
Aum Sayee Krishnaya vidhmahe
Vasudevaya dhimahi
Thanno Krishna prachodhayath
